Unit 1.1 Arts Challenge Review
What I did well
I worked very well on my targets for my arts challenge as I succeeded in both aspects. I worked hard on recreating the story of Narcissus to involve more audience interaction and participation and I performed Narcissus at the Youth Parliament Annual Sitting Talent Show where I won an “Oscar” for my performance. I changed it by adding in a piece which required audience response and added in a section where I picked out some of the audience to be characters in my story. I collected very positive feedback and was very happy with how I had changed my story and successfully achieved my aim. I also set an aim of finding a story with audience participation for my storywalk which I succeeded in doing through the story of “Nelly”. I researched and crafted Nelly to have audience participation and thus fulfilled my challenges aims.
What I could have done better
I could have managed my time better as I was focussing a lot on Unit 2 leaving myself short preparation time for my performance at Youth Parliament but I managed to work hard and succeed still.
Things I would change
I would set the challenge as something that covers solely Unit 1.1 instead of also masking Unit 2 with my aims.
Overall I was very impressed and pleased with my progress through Unit 1.1 and was proud with the advances I made in my art form.
