Our next exhibit will be Bertilak, the Green Knight and Morgana le Fey, two processional giants who featured many years ago in the celebrations to open the Channel tunnel. Since then they have been ‘processed’ at giant festivals throughout Europe and are currently on loan to Rennes museum.
Their makers and owners, the Guardians of Giants have arranged for them to be transported to Wem and have offered to erect them in Mythstories and to provide a detailed display on their construction on an ‘expenses only’ basis. We are looking to raise £1,500 to cover these expenses and a further £500 to bring children from the local schools to special storytelling sessions to meet the giants and celebrate their arrival. We will also be asking the schools for a small contribution towards the costs of their visits.
